Tom “durrrr” Dwan…
So by now I am sure everyone is aware of the Durrrr challenge as well as the fact that the young pro is down quite a large sum of money on the year. Yesterday was a pretty big action day for him as he had decreased his gap to break even. At the beginning of the day he was down an astounding $2million for 09′ but after the long day of work he had proffited $600k which is bringing him closer to breaking even. The main hands were between Dwan going against 2 Full Tilt Pros: Gus Hansen and Phil Ivey. He took quite a big pot away from Hansen when he hit a higher 2 pair on the turn but for some reason he cannot beat Ivey. Throughout the course of the day he had lost a few pots totaling over 100k each to Ivey and continued the recent trend of loosing to him…I have to say that Dwan is gaining more and more respect from me every day for even thoe he is loosing to some for the most part he started taking out huge chunks out of his $2million spread for 09′ and if this keeps going on the not only will he break even but will also be up a huge amount of money after 2009 is all done with.
Good luck to all of the pros and thanks for providing us with such entertaining high price hands to watch.

Poker Variations
The online poker games consist of many different variations. The most popular forms of online poker are Texas Hold’em, Omaha Hold’em, Seven-Card Stud and Draw poker are the popular online poker games and are likely to spread at every casino and poker club around the world.
Draw poker is the poker game most people are likely to have played, at least on some occasion in their lifetime. Draw poker is considered to be the basic form of poker and was almost the only form that was played until the mid-seventies when a series of new games were introduced. For all the latest and the greatest updates on poker games please checkĀ our *online poker* reviews. Seven-Card stud was very popular in the eighties but the popularity cooled off in the nineties. It is still popular in some countries in Europe like Denmark and Germany but its highest concentration of players are on the east coast in USA.
Among the unusual but still popular poker variations are Crazy Pineapple which is a relative to Texas Hold’em, Razz which is a form of Seven-Card Stud and Lowball which is a form of Draw poker. Omaha, Seven-Card Stud and Draw poker are also played in high/low versions. Texas Hold’em is the most popular form of online poker in the world. Omaha was a very popular game in the eighties and nineties before the expansion of Texas Hold’em. Today Now in the US the high/low version of Omaha is quite popular and Omaha is still played by many Europeans and in the pot limit structure which is more common in Europe.

The “Durrrr” Challenge…
As I am sure most of you have heard already, Tom “Durrrr” Dwan has announced that he will challenge anyone in heads-up online poker play for a chance for the challenger to win $1 million. He is willing to put up $1.5 million to any challengers $500,000…Although he said in some of his statements posted on several online sources that this wasn’t supposed to go public yet the word has been spreading fast across the poker world. The challenge basically consists of him and whoever will take up on his challenge to be playing four tables at a time heads-up with a minimum $200/$400 blinds. They both have to play at least 50,000 hands and whichever one of them finishes with more profit or being the least in minus wins the bet. Now if you ask me, two things come to my mind right away. First is that Tom must be feeling pretty confident about his game right now willing to put up a million more than his opponent. The second is that if I had that kind of money to gamble with then it sounds like a pretty sweet deal. A chance to win a million while putting up only $500,000…Supposedly Patrick Antonius has already accepted the challenge and a couple more players are thinking about it. This will be very entertaining to follow although will probably take quite some time for the whole challenge to finish. If Antonius really follows through with this then I am rooting for him (sorry Tom) since I’ve been a fan of his game for quite a while now. Please feel free to comment, would be interesting to hear everybody’s thoughts on this one of a kind call-out that has taken place and who do you think would win? Durrrr or Antonius…

PokerOfficer Tracker Software for PKR
Poker trackers and real-time opponent statistics software has been available for online poker rooms for years, and I’m sure most of us have heard of Poker Tracker. They track your hand history while you play, and more importantly they count your opponents actions to build up a picture of their style of play. This is displayed on the screen beside each player. The most common stats are VPIP and PFR, which measure an opponents pre-flop tightness when limping, and when raising, but there are many other useful stats to have.
When PKR took the major leap into the realms of 3D poker, they left poker software behind, until now. PokerOfficer is the first tracker and statistics display made specially for PKR’s fancy 3D interface, and is the only add-on software to integrate with PKR, and their multi-table system.
PokerOfficer – Tracker HUD for PKR
I’m halfway through the free trial and my first impressions are good, it displays all the helpful statistics you need, was easy to set up and use, and works automatically once installed. It’s taking out the guesswork and really helping my game.
