Worst bad beat I ever had!!!
So I went to play in a cash game last night at the casino. Minimum Buy-in was $2000 with the blinds being $10/$20…I sat down at the table with $2500 and was playing a good game. Making all the hard tough right calls and at the same time making some big folds which ended up to be correct. Then the worst hand I ever had came. By then I had about $5400 and got dealt QJ of heart’s…Threw in a small raise and two people made the call. Flop: A,K,4 of hearts…I thought I hit the lotto, Nut Flush with a Royal Draw, it doesn’t get much better than this. Checked it, one player bet $400 with the other one making the call. I just made the call to get more money out of them. Next card was a 2 of hearts which kinda worried me since one of them just might have 5,6 of Hearts…So i bet out $800 and was called and then re-raised by the next player all-in…Of course I made the call since I was holding the Nuts and the other guy did turn out to have 5,6 of heart’s so he only had one out in the whole deck. Guess what came out next? It was the 3 of hearts giving this idiot a low straight flush and beating me. It doesn’t get much worse than that if you asked me. I wanted to flip the table over after that hand…I hope my luck changes for the better soon, lost a decent amount of money in the past week in cash games…

Last minute luck…
Hey everyone. Played in a cash game the day before yesterday and if wasnt going to well from the beggining. Partly because I was making mistakes myself and the rest was people drawing me out by the river and me ending up having to fold or loosing in the showdown. I bought in for $2000 originally and in about 3 hours I was $4000 in it. Played for about an hour more and then just got tired of it since my stack was down to $1300 again. This is when in a matter of 30minutes everything turned upside down and started going my way for a change…
I was in big blind with pockes 3’s, person after me raised to $100 and every single other player called…Me in a desperation move and saying that I just want to go home already pushed all-in. Surprisingly only one player called and I ended up winning the pot for he had 2 over cards and they didnt come out for him. I was right back at $3400 with that hand. Then about 20 minutes after that I got pocket 10’s and moved all-in once more having being called by one opponent with 2 over cards. Nothing came out for him either and I ended up gettin up from the table with $6700 and being up almost 3K…feels nice to just get plain old lucky every now and then.

Amsterdam…
Hey everyone…Sorry for being away for some time but I was on vacation in Amsterdam. It was my first time there and to be honest I feel that it is a bit overrated. I was there with my sister and two of my friends, we had a great time together but other than that it was just like any other place for the most part. After a couple of days of partying I found a casino and of course was playing at a table in a few minutes after that. My first day wasnt too succesfull. I ended up going back to the hotel being down about 600 Euros and determined to get it back and some more the next day.
When I came back there I was very drained from the day time activities. We were walking around town, shopping, etc. for about 8 hours so I really thought I was just going to give my money away at the table. Thankfully the opposite occured. I played the 500 minimum buy-in cash game with 1and 2 blinds. In about two hours of play I got up from the table with about 3700 Euros and went back to my room to get some sleep. The players that took my money the day before ended up paying for my whole vacation and I basically went on my trip for free. My total winnings ended up being around 2600euros which more than covered the hotel stay and the flight. So it was a great vacation after all, I mean who wouldn’t like to go to Amsterdam for free right??? hehe
I am getting back into my normal daily routine now so you will see more posts coming up about my poker adventures. See you guys soon…

Lucky River…
Played in a small cash game last night at my friends place, 10$/10$ blinds only NL Hold’em. There was 6 of us playing with buy-in from $500-$1000max at a time. After a few beers 3 of my friends seemed to forget that you are allowed to fold your cards in this game so it was basically impossible to pull a bluff off since I was getting called by not 1 but most of the time all 3 of them lol…After loosing my first $500 I bought in for a $1000 and changed up my game a bit, started playing tighter with them and waiting for really good hands to really reel these fishes in. I got up to about $1800 and that when I got crazy lucky for a change instead of one of them catchin something on the river like they have been doing all night long. I had 9,9 on the button and raise to $185 since I really didnt want to have anyone in the hand with sub-par hands. To my susprise 2 of my drunk buddies folded but 1 called. Flop came out Q,K,6 which was obviously bad for me but thankfully he checked over to me and so did I. Turn came a 2 and there were 3 different suits on board so no possibility of a flush. He bet $250 and I knew he caught either a Q or a K but for some reason just felt like calling and I did. River came a 9 and he went all in right away and before even moving all of his chips in got an instant call from me. He turned over Q,K and then I showed my set of 9’s lol…Since we are friends I threw him a $100 chip just because I got so lucky and that brought me up to over $3000 right away and I ended up leaving the table with $3500 at the end of the night, but that is just a reminder of how bad that dreadfull river card could hurt, thankfully in this case the luck was on my side.

Doing well in Cash Games in 09′
Hey, been having a pretty good run at the cash game tables so far this year. Went to play again last night at the $25/$25 NL Hold’em table. There was only one regular sitting down at the table and the rest foreigners that I never seen before and one of them has had too many drinks already so was fishing for everything. I bought in for $2000 and in the first 30 minutes or so lost about half my stack on some bad beat hands. I added one more thousand so I was back up to two and started playing a bit tighter after getting a feel of the players at the table. The cards weren’t really going my way last night but I stuck it out. Made big folds even when I was holding decent hands as well as making the right calls. I wasnt really in much of the action for about an hour during which the familiar face at the table built his stack up from $5000 to a little over $20,000. He is a good player and happened to be hitting everything last night. Then once the button came around to me and I looked at my cards I was holding AQ of diamonds. I made a raise to $250 and was called by the big stack. flop came out A,9,Q with two hearts on board. He checked it over to me, I bet $250 and he called instantly. Turn was a J and he checked it over as did I being a little scarred of a possible straight considering he has been hitting big hands all night long. The turn was another A giving me the Nut’s so after he checked I bet out $300 which he called and then mucked his cards. That brought me up to having a little over $3000 but again I had to wait for quite sometime to hit it big. My turn came about 45 minutes after that last hand where I picked up A8 of diamonds being in the big blind. The big stack called and the drunk guy sitting in small blind raised to $150…Since it wasn’t that big of a raise I called as did the 3rd player. Flop came out A,8,7 rainbow so I knew I was sitting pretty good. I checked, the big stack bet $300 and me along with the original raiser called. Turn was a 2, the small blind checked, I bet out $300 with the player after me calling and the drunk dude before me going all in $1700…After debating for a few minutes I decided to take my chances and called as did the big stack after me which got me pretty nervous I must say. River was a 9 and we both checked it through. When cards were flipped the big stack had just a pair of 8’s, small blind was holding A,J so I gladly turned over my two pairs, Aces and 8’s… Now maybe it wasn’t a smart call on my part but it turned out well and brought me up to nearly $7000 right away. After that I played a couple of more hands and since it was 3am already I got up to go home being up a little over $3000. So I am very happy at my showings so far this year, nothing big but for me its pretty good and hopefully it continues that way…Feel free to comment if that last call was a right thing to do or just a stupid move with me getting lucky that the other players didn’t have the hands that they were showing with their bets.
