Being on Tilt helped out for once…
Hello. So Saturday night me and my friend decided to go play a little bit in a cash game before going out to a club. We went to the casinos and they were running a $2000 minimum buy-in table with 25/25 blinds. It was dealers choice of three game’s: Hold’em, Omaha Hi and Omaha Hi-Low. We both bought in with $2000 since nobody had big stacks at the table yet. My first hand I got AA and won about $800 so got a bit excited from that and lost my $2000 plus the money I won the quite quickly. I decided to give it one more go and made one more buy-in for $2000. The cards just weren’t coming to me and even when they were I was forced to fold under pressure from bigger stacks. Soon enough I was on tilt. Aggravated that nothing was going my way and not catching a break I went down to about $1300 making stupid calls and that’s when my turnaround came. I picked up a strong starting hand in Omaha and hit the nut flush on the flop. There were no pairs on board so I went all in after a little raise and got called by two players, one of whom had a bit less money than me so he was all-in as well. After taking down that pot I was back up to $3700 and this is when my night changing hand came. It was Omaha once again and I had A,4 of heart’s and Q,J of spades so I raised pot and only one player called. Flop came out 7,2,5 with two cards being heart’s. I raised pot once again and my opponent re-raised me. In a desperation move I went all-in and got called, once the card’s were flipped, turned out he already had a set of 7’s. Luckily for me a 3 came out on the river giving me a low straight and I took down the pot bringing me up to almost $8000 right away. After that I hit a set of King’s in hold’em and picked up another $1000 from that and then shortly after hit Quads on the turn in Omaha Hi-low. By then it was about 1:30am so both me and my friend decided to head out. He ended up winning about $2400 and I was up $4900 so it was a good way to start of a Saturday night.
